Volunteer With Us

Your skills can help build more prepared communities.

You don’t have to deploy during a disaster to make a difference.

Much of DARTCC™’s work happens before disaster strikes, building tools, sharing knowledge, connecting people, and helping communities become better prepared to care for both people and animals when an emergency occurs.

That takes many different skills and many different people.

Whether you have professional expertise, a few hours to contribute to a project, or simply a desire to help, there may be a place for you at DARTCC™.

There Are Many Ways to Help

Fundraising & Grants

Turn opportunities into impact. Research prospective funders, identify grant opportunities, build relationships, and connect DARTCC™ with resources that can bring preparedness tools and programs to more communities.

Communications & Storytelling

Give important stories a voice. Use writing, social media, photography, video, newsletters, or other creative skills to share what teams and communities are learning and why disaster animal preparedness matters.

Technology & Testing

Make good tools even better. Put EASApp®, DARTGuardian™, and future technology through their paces, share your technical expertise, and identify ways to make our tools simpler and more useful in the real world.

Research & Education

Turn knowledge into something others can use. Explore preparedness topics, develop educational materials, and contribute practical resources that allow teams and communities to learn from one another.

Community Outreach

Bring preparedness into the community. Develop materials and programs that connect teams with pet guardians, older adults, people with disabilities, and others who may face additional challenges before and during a disaster.

Behind-the-Scenes Support

Keep good work moving forward. Bring your organizational skills to project coordination, data management, administration, research, and the many details that turn ideas into action.

We’re Powered by People Who Care

Volunteers working together to support their community

DARTCC™ currently has no employees. Our work is made possible by volunteers, students, contractors, collaborators, and supporters who bring different experiences and skills to a shared mission.

Some people work with us on an ongoing basis. Others contribute to a specific project. Both matter.

What matters most is finding a way to contribute that works for you.

Have Another Idea?

Some of our best ideas have come from people who saw a need, asked a question, or brought us expertise we didn’t know we needed.

If you have a skill or an idea that isn’t listed here, we’d still like to hear from you.

Not sure where you fit?

That’s okay.

Tell us a little about yourself, what you enjoy doing, and how much time you’d like to give. We’ll start with a conversation and see if there’s a good fit.

I’d Like to Help →

Preparedness starts with connection.

When we bring together people with different skills, experiences, and perspectives, we can build stronger tools, share better information, and help communities be more prepared for the animals and people who depend on them.

We listen. We learn. We share. We prepare, together.
